Leon Valley is a city in Bexar County, Texas, United States. Leon Valley is an enclave on the northwest side of San Antonio and is part of the San Antonio-New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the city was over 10,100 at the 2010 census. Leon Valley is an independent municipality surrounded by the city of San Antonio. Leon Valley city was developed in the 1940s as a farming community on Bandera Road between Helotes and San Antonio. Later in the year 1954 Leon Valley city is incorporated under the leadership of its founding mayor, Raymond Rimkus.

The Leon Valley Public Library was founded in 1976 under the name “Northwest Community Library” and was opened to the community in the year 1977. Later in 1989, the library’s name was changed to “Leon Valley Public Library.”

Raymond Rimkus Park is named after Leon Valley’s First Mayor. This is a beautiful 22 – Acre Park located at the corner of Poss and Evers Roads. Park rules are enforced by the Leon Valley Police Department.

The San Antonio Aquarium has been the premier family entertainment center in Leon Valley, TX since 2014. The Aquarium is home to thousands of species within dozens of exhibits.
